At a crossroads...yet my faith perseveres!

Life has become a Path

A Path of spontaneous Obstacles

Obstacles that defy Existence

Existence because of Strength

Strength that grows with Time

Time that never Ends....

The above is extracted from a poem I started writing in 1997, I thought it to be an appropriate opening to this post.

The beauty about choice is not that you have it, but it is that when you do make an ultimate decision God already knows that choice you're about to make and guides you accordingly. In recent months I've asked God to guide me along various paths I've chosen; my academics, my love-life, my family-life and even as simple a decision as what shoe to buy. No matter what it is I just get the sense that God is constantly at work around me, not just to effect the positives that come along with my choices, but also that I may at some point be used to inspire and encourage those around me to trust Him and continue along His path.

This past week has been truly inspiring, I've finally accepted that even though life takes you down a certain path, you don't always have to stay on that one! You can always create your own crossroad. A place where you can turn about changing course and go in just about any direction you so desire. I desire to go God's way, letting His Divine propulsion take a stronghold on my heart and inspire me to just walk; placing every footstep in line with His, through His word. God is so awesome, as I was writing this blog He furnished the perfect scripture. Glory Be to God! In John 5:30 AMP " I am able to do nothing from myself [independently, of My own accord---but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and my judgement is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me."

Sometimes when you decide against a past choice and take another path, it isn't always a matter of being indecisive, sometimes it's God working in you to perfect your decision. God knows best for you, even when you don't. I have had instances in my life where I have questioned some decisions I made at some point. You always have to remember that the enemy is constantly at work, those little nagging questions you sometimes have mid-way through thought and action, are sometimes rooted in the negative. The best way to find resolve, and know that you're making the right decision is to line up every thought and every action with the will of God through His word. I cannot stress this enough. Most people find it difficult to relate certain choices and decisions to Bible scriptures, but I tell you open your eyes and ask God for understanding. My friends He will direct your path, He will lead you to that word that is the most timely, appropriate and perfectly related to your issue. You have to trust that He will and He will without a doubt.

Do not trust your heart to make decisions. By your heart I mean your emotions and your soul; that part of your natural character that embodies your earthly thoughts, passions and desires. We all have these, that is why we're still human. The word says in Jeremiah 17:9 AMP " The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]?" Oh but I tell you, God does amazing things for you if you just ask Him to. If ever you feel like it's becoming more and more difficult to make the right choice, ask Him for clarity to hear and perceive His divine instruction. God will give you a new way to feel and perceive. Praise be to the Almighty God, Ezekiel 36:26-27 AMP " A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put in you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them." Amen.

Oh but it does not end there, can I tell you how great God is! Again in the word, Galatians 5:16-26 " But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do. But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [[a]that can bring a charge]. And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit [b]we have our life in God, let us go forward [c]walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.] Let us not become vainglorious and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another."

Friends I tell you God is so awesome, He promises us the best and always delivers on His word. Please be inspired to allow God to envelop you in His Holy Spirit, there would never be another day you'd find yourself bought with indecision, your path will be clear and at every crossroad in life you will always choose the right way; God's way! Amen.

It is amazing...

Life is an amazing journey...I bet you've heard that a million and one times before...but truly it is. I mean you really never know what you're gonna get from one day to the next. How does one maintain composure in light of such a daunting revelation? This question has baffled me for quite some time, and I'm only just beginning to understand that coping sometimes means letting go...letting it rest. For what does it mean to exist in a state of perpetual agony and anguish for the sake of a question that can not and ought not be answered, but should only be resolved by time and through faith; an unyielding belief that you will find resolve in your favour in due course. Oh...but the flavour of your favour sometimes eludes your taste. Nevertheless the hope is to learn and acquire thereof. Bringing you to another profound idea...acceptance.
